So, I finished the sequel to Hunger Games, called Catching Fire. Where should I start, it’s a very good and adventurous read. It’s getting a little annoying with that whole Peeta/Gale thing, but all in all it’s very interesting especially once they find out about the Quarter Quells.
There’s always something that keeps you on a leash and makes you read on. Because once the Hunger Games are being prepared, you realize it will be completely different than the last time around. Because the take on everything is different and Haymitch, Peeta, and Katniss play other roles than in the preceding book. And not just when it comes to the Games itself, they all start to have dissimilar functions.
Of course, as in the first book, Peeta makes it happen again by dropping yet another bomb during the interviews. I think that’s almost one of the best parts of the Hunger Games so far. No, I’m just kidding, but it does bring a certain humor to the Hunger Games.
You always have to keep reading, because you just have to know what is going to happen and since Katniss doesn’t have a clue about anything, why should you know anything more? Yes, so that’s what makes the sequel yet another interesting and catching (a little bit of wordplay, HA!) read.
As of today I am already reading the final sequel Hunger Games: Mockingjay, and I will surely keep you in the loop about that one, but until then, why don’t you tell me how you perceived Catching Fire? Did you like it more or less than the first book Hunger Games? How did the sequel do in your opinion?
